The mixing unit has a capacity of 1,000 litres. It consists of a large pallet tank fitted with a stainless-steel cover housing. The cover ensures that salt filling is simple and spill-free. The brine is mixed via an external pump and filter system, which creates continuous circulation within the tank.
Connection is straightforward and requires only two hoses – one to draw liquid from the tank and one to return it.
The pump and filter unit is connected to a 230V AC power outlet, and you are ready to start producing your own brine solution.
The brine you mix should contain between 20% and 23% salt. You can check the salt concentration by placing a drop of the solution on the included refractometer, looking through the lens and reading the value at the blue line. This ensures that your brine solution is at its most effective concentration.
A stronger brine solution will not improve your de-icing performance.
Overdosing salt in the tank will instead cause crystals to form and settle at the bottom, which can clog the filter and disrupt circulation. This may eventually damage the pump.
